Hugas Dugo
By Filipina Storyteller Kimmy Baraoidan (photos and text)
Hugas Dugo is a group of men in the town of Pakil, Laguna who transform from ordinary citizens into faceless flagellants every Good Friday. The group was formed in the ‘80s, and tradition is being kept alive by the younger generation.
